Nytt nummer av Norwegian Journal of Entomology

Et nytt nummer av tidsskriftet (vol. 65 nr. 1) ble trykket 28. juni 2018. I dette nummeret kan man lese om det første funnet av edderkoppen Oreoneta eskimopoint Saaristo & Marusik, 2004 fra Grønland. Her finnes også en artikkel om utbredelsen til den sjeldne buksamlerbien Coelioxys lanceolata Nylander, 1852 i Norge. En artikkel med tilføyelser og rettelser til Aakra m. fl. (2016) sin artikkel om norske edderkopper tilføyer 12 arter nye for landet. Fjærmyggen Claudiotendipes bolivianus beskrives som ny for vitenskapen fra La Paz Department i Bolivia. Praktvepsen Ctenochira magnusi beskrives også som ny for vitenskapen fra Oppsalneset i Vindafjord i Norge. Siste del av en serie med artikler som presenterer Norges minérfluer finnes også i dette nummeret. Her får vi en oversikt over følgende slekter av minérfluer; Melanagromyza, Cerodontha, Chromatomyia, Liriomyza, Metopomyza, Napomyza og Phytomyza. Vepsen Melittobia acasta (Walker, 1839) er for første gang rapportert fra Norge og presenteres i en artikkel i dette nummeret. En oversikt over trefluer fra Finnmark finnes også i dette nummeret og her rapporteres treflua Clusiodes freyi Tuomikoski, 1933 for første gang fra Norge. Møkkflua Hebecnema brodina beskrives som ny for vitenskapen fra et gammelt museumsmateriale fra Sverige. En oversikt over arter i underfamilien Cerocephalinae i vepsefamilien Pteromalidae finnes også i dette nummeret. Her rapporteres også arten Theocolax formiciformis Westwood, 1832 som ny for Norge. Lapprovflua Cyrtopogon lapponicus (Zetterstedt, 1838) rapporteres for første gang fra Norge basert på materiale samlet på Dombås i 1980.

The linyphiid spider Oreoneta eskimopoint Saaristo & Marusik, 2004 is reported as new to Greenland. A single male was pitfall trapped in northwest Greenland at Savissivik in the summer of 2014 in vegetation below a colony of little auks (Alle alle Linnaeus, 1758). Characters that separate this species from its other Greenlandic congener, Oreoneta frigida (Thorell, 1872), are presented. Erigone arctica arctica (White, 1852) is recorded for the first time in the NW Greenland biogeographic subdivision.

Sydenham, M.A.K., Ødegaard, F., Hanevik, K.-A., Skoog, D.I.J., Müller, H.T. & Steinert, M. 2018. On the distribution of the rare solitary bee Coelioxys lanceolata Nylander, 1852 (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae) in Norway. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 7–12.

Coelioxys lanceolata Nylander, 1852 is considered to be one of the rarest bee species in the Nordic countries, previously with only four unique observations registered for Norway. Here nine new unique observations of C. lanceolata for Norway, including three new county records are given and an updated map and discussion of its distribution in Norway is provided. The relative uncommonness of C. lanceolata compared to other bee species may be due to sampling biases. A sampling scheme that would allow assessing if such bias is influencing our knowledge of the status of Norwegian bees is therefore suggested.

Twelve species new to the Norwegian fauna are reported: Clubiona genevensis L. Koch, 1866, Dictyna palmgreni Marusik & Fritzén, 2011, Gnaphosa nigerrima L. Koch, 1877, Kikimora palustris Eskov, 1988, Tibioploides arcuatus (Tullgren, 1955), Phrurolithus minimus C. L. Koch, 1839, Dolomedes plantarius (Clerck, 1757), Evarcha laetabunda (C. L. Koch, 1846), Tetragnatha nigrita Lendl, 1886, Dipoena nigroreticulata (Simon, 1880), Thymoites bellissimus (L. Koch, 1879) and Xysticus robustus (Hahn, 1832). Syedra myrmicarum (Kulczynski, 1882) is replacing earlier records of Syedra cf. apetlonensis Wunderlich, 1992; Trichoncus hackmani Millidge, 1955 replaces all previous records of Trichoncus in Norway (including affinis Kulczynski, 1894 and vasconicus Denis, 1944); some new records are added to Hackmania prominula (Tullgren, 1948), Diastanillus pecuarius (Simon, 1884) and Enoplognatha serratosignata (L. Koch, 1879). The number of spider species in Norway is now 623.

Andersen, T. 2018. A new species of Claudiotendipes Andersen, Mendes & Pinho, 2017 from Bolivia (Diptera, Chironomidae). Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 22–25.

Claudiotendipes bolivianus  sp. n. is described and figured based on a male from La Paz Department, Bolivia. The species is small, with a wing length of about 1.3 mm and an antennal ration (AR) of about 0.3. It can easily be separated from its congeners by having a superior volsella that is sharply bent medially. A key to the males of Claudiotendipes is provided.

Haraldseide, H. 2018. A new species of Ctenochira Förster, 1855 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Tryphoninae). Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 26–31.

Ctenochira magnusi  sp. n. is described and figured based on material collected in Norway and Germany. The new species can be separated from other similar Ctenochira Förster, 1855 species by characteristics of the ovipositor sheaths, the inclination and length of the setae of the hypopygium and the reduced pectination of the claws.

Andersen, A. 2018. On the Agromyzidae (Diptera) in Norway, Part 4. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 32–48.

The present paper is the last in a series of four on the fauna of Agromyzidae in Norway, and deals with the genera Melanagromyza Hendel, 1920, Ophiomyia Braschnikov, 1897, Amauromyza Hendel, 1931, Aulagromyza Enderlein, 1936, Cerodontha Rondani, 1861, Chromatomyia Hardy, 1849, Liriomyza Mik, 1894, Metopomyza Enderlein, 1936, Napomyza Westwood, 1840 and Phytomyza Fallén, 1810. Ninety-six species are reported of which seventeen are reported new to the Norwegian fauna: Melanagromyza aeneoventris (Fallén, 1823), M. cunctans (Meigen, 1830), M. pubescens Hendel, 1923, M. submetallescens Spencer, 1966, Ophiomyia curvipalpis (Zetterstedt, 1848), O. ranunculicaulis Hering, 1949, Chromatomyia syngenesiae Hardy, 1849, Metopomyza interfrontalis Melander, 1913, M. xanthaspioides (Frey, 1946) , Phytomyza cecidonomia Hering, 1937, P. cirsii Hendel, 1923, P. clematidis Kaltenbach, 1859, P. fennoscandiae Spencer, 1976, P. isais Hering, 1937, P. origani Hering, 1931, P. pulsatillae Hering, 1924 and P. socia Brischke, 1881. In addition, new regional data is given for eighty species previously reported from Norway. The biology of the larva, when known, and the distribution in Norway and Europe are commented on species new to Norway. The Norwegian checklist for Agromyzidae now consist of 256 species.

Staverløkk, A. & Kim, I.-K. 2018. Melittobia acasta (Walker, 1839) (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea, Eulophidae, Tetrastichinae) recorded in Norway. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 49–54.

Melittobia acasta (Walker, 1839) is reported for the first time in Norway. The species is known for its extreme sexual dimorphism and for parasitizing various hymenopterans in bee nesting sites. Comments on biology and distribution for the species are given.

Winqvist, K. & Andersen, T. 2018. Clusiidae (Diptera) from Finnmark, northern Norway. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 55–59.

Records of four Clusiidae species, Clusia flava (Meigen, 1830), Clusiodes freyi Tuomikoski, 1933, C. geomyzinus (Fallén, 1823) and C. ruficollis (Meigen, 1830), collected in Finnmark, northern Norway, in 2010 are presented. Clusiodes freyi has previously not been recorded from Norway and Clusia flava has previously not been recorded from Finnmark. A checklist of the Clusiidae species recorded from Norway is presented.

Zielke, E. 2018. Description of a remarkable new species of Hebecnema Schnabl, 1889 (Diptera, Muscidae) from Sweden. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 60–66.

Hebecnema brodina  sp. n. is described from Sweden and compared to similar species of Hebecnema Schnabl, 1889 from the Palaearctic Region. Whilst the hitherto known Hebecnema species from the European part of the Palaearctic Region are all dark coloured, the new species is characterized by a reddish-brown body and yellow legs. Additionally, H. brodina differs from similar species e. g. by the length and numbers of setae on palpi and legs and by the colour of the calypters. With this publication the number of Hebecnema species recorded from Europe is raised to seven.

Staverløkk, A. & Hansen, L.O. 2018. Faunistic data and biology on the subfamily Cerocephalinae (Hymenoptera, Pteromalidae) including the first record of Theocolax formiciformis Westwood, 1832 from Norway. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 67–77.

A single specimen of Theocolax formiciformis Westwood, 1832 is reported together with new data on Cerocephala cornigera Westwood, 1832 and Cerocephala rufa (Walker, 1833) in Norway. Notes on the mating behaviour of C. cornigera and the purpose of the ornamental growths of the males are discussed. Species in this group parasitize on wood-boring Coleoptera and are hyperparasitoids on other species of Hymenoptera parasitoids. The biology and distribution of each species are briefly discussed.

Kahanpää, J. 2018. Cyrtopogon lapponicus (Zetterstedt, 1838), an asilid fly new to Norway (Diptera, Asilidae). Norwegian Journal of Entomology 65, 78–80.

A single female of the asilid fly species Cyrtopogon lapponicus (Zetterstedt, 1838) was collected from Dombås in Dovre municipality, Oppland, Norway in 12 July 1980 by J. Perkiömäki. This robberfly species is new to the Norwegian fauna. The microtrichial pattern on the wings is proposed as a new character for separating C. lapponicus from C. lateralis: the basal medial (bm) will cell of C. lapponicus is only very sparsely microtrichose especially in the basal half.
